Goose stuffed with dried fruit in the style of Françoise Janoueix

Soil type

Sandy on a very ferruginous background.

Grape varieties

Merlot only like the famous Pétrus.

Average production

It is practically "La Romanée Conti" of Pomerol, about 5000 masterpieces bottled at the estate.

Character of the wine

Delicate, elegant and complex nose. Beautiful Bottle that brings together what can be expected from a good Pomerol, complexity and remarkable structure. This vintage ranks among the greatest wines. Only its small size prevents the world from knowing it.

The past

On April 19, 1514, Jean de Valon, abbot commander of the Order of Malta, appointed Brother Mathieu Bossuet, a native of the parish, to the parish of Saint-Jean de Pomeyrol, a man who was "recommended by the zeal of his religion, the honesty of his life and morals and other honourable gifts of virtue". This holy man often went to a beautiful enclosed vineyard in the tenement of Jougla to read in the calm and serenity his breviary and to recite "The Litanies" of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saints in general and Saint Vincent, patron saint of winegrowers in particular. It was the winegrowers themselves who named this place Le Clos des Litanies after their pious priest.

Tasting notes

By renowned oenologists Michel ROLLAND and Stéphane TOUTOUNDJI (GAULT & MILLAU)

Mouth with a dense tannic structure, harmonious oaky, round finish.
Sappy fullness with a spherical mouth that possesses volume and freshness and a nice floral return. (Bettane et Desseauve)
The nose and the mouth are fresh. Round and smooth wine
